SLA -  Service-level agreement - agreement that sets the expectations between the service provider and the customer. Describes the metrics by which that service is measured, the remedies or penalties.

SSO - Single sign-on - an authentication scheme that allows a user to log in with a single ID and password to multiple applications and websites. User have to log in only once.

OAuth - Open authorization - process in which users grant websites or applications access to information on another website without exposing their login credentials. OAuth ensures that the requesting website has the right permissions to access the user’s data.

SAML - Security Assertion Markup Language - an open standard protocol that allows identity providers to pass authorization credentials to service providers. User can use one set of credentials to log into many different websites.

DevOps - set of practices that combines software development (Dev) and IT operations (Ops). It aims to shorten the systems development life cycle and provide continuous delivery with high software quality.

API - application programming interface is a connection between computers or between computer programs. It is a type of software interface, offering a service to other pieces of software. In contrast to a user interface, which connects a computer to a person, an application programming interface connects computers or pieces of software to each other.

Microservices architecture - is an approach to developing a single application as a suite of small services, each running in its own process and communicating with lightweight mechanisms, often an HTTP resource API. These services are built around business capabilities and independently deployable by fully automated deployment machinery.

MVC - Model–view–controller is a software design pattern commonly used for developing user interfaces that divide the related program logic into three interconnected elements. This is done to separate internal representations of information from the ways information is presented to and accepted from the user.

QA – Quality Assurance is a way of preventing mistakes and defects in manufactured products and avoiding problems when delivering products or services

UAT – User Acceptance Testing - a type of acceptance testing performed to determine if intended users accept the system.

BDD - Behavior-driven development is an Agile software development methodology in which an application is documented and designed around the behavior a user expects to experience when interacting with it

CI/CD - CI/CD is the combined practices of continuous integration (CI) with continuous delivery or continuous deployment (CD). The purpose of CI/CD is to allow development teams to deliver code changes more frequently and reliably.
