What I will take away most is the adherence and understanding of the role competencies and essentials play in nursing education. There were a lot more "methods to the madness" than I originally gave credit for, which was welcomed knowledge. Two key aspects to focus on for me are advancing my clinical experience and improving my communication effectiveness. Nursing instructors must have significant clinical experience in nursing practice to ensure that they can provide real-world insights, teach complex clinical concepts, and guide students through practical nursing skills. Effective teaching and communication skills can allow me to explain complex nursing concepts in a clear, engaging, and understandable manner is essential. Nursing instructors should also be skilled in various teaching methods, including lectures, simulations, and clinical supervision. I will need to adapt my teaching style to meet the diverse learning needs of students and create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment.

An application that I will continue as an educator is the importance of educator reflection and student reflection. As a student, it is very meaningful to reflect on my growth and recognize (and celebrate) all the learning that occurred. As an educator, I believe it is critical to reflect on what went well and what did not so that adjustments can be made if needed.
