This is also a self-reflection poem about the sun, since the working title "Maybe the Universe Does Revolve Around Me" needs context. I want this poem to feel like a juxtaposition of burnout/tired feeling and hope. Giving too much of yourself to people when you don't have to just because you want them to glow.

Moon

The goal is for it to be formatted in a very creative step by step way, highlighting the highs and lows of depression in alignment with the fullness or emptiness of the moon. Light and shadows were used to create this dynamic.

This poem is about the complexity of a father daughter relationship when generational anger plays a mix, how the way your father was raised affects how he treats you, and how you can love someone and still feel resentment towards them, playing with the idea of "a woman is the sum of all the things her father aint" (a Zach Bryan quote if you're interested). The Red Planet will be a big part of the poem, since red is associated heavily with anger.

This poem is about Jupiter taking on the role of an abuser, whether physical or mentally, because of the size of Jupiter being larger. It covers the ideas of manipulation and abuse in a relationship, while also hitting cultural references to remind you of the innocence of childhood at the very end, "boys go to Jupiter to get stupider." This creates the tension throughout the poem for it to be brought down with nostalgia and yearning for the way we all once thought, while also thinking from the perspective of a victim throughout the poem.
