Working with the Delaware Ovarian Cancer Foundation to TURN THE TOWN TEAL! Every August we help DOCF create huge teal bows that get hung all over Delaware in awareness of Ovarian Cancer. Some teens even go help hang the bows in September. Sign up here, to help make bows at Teen Leadership Council!

Teen Leadership Council is open to ALL TEENS ages 12-17. TLC meets with the Teen/YA Library Specialist to brainstorm and plan library programming, assist with YA Book displays, create interactive engagements in the Teen Area, and work on community service projects. Teens who participate in TLC regularly earn service hours.

Are you interested in becoming a volunteer at the Brandywine Hundred Library, or within New Castle County?

Our Teen Volunteer Program accepts applications for teen volunteers (ages 14-17) in the spring and in the fall.

If you would like to learn more, REGISTER BELOW to attend a Volunteer Info Session. At these 30 minute meetings you & your parent/caregiver will learn about the onboarding and application process for our Teen Volunteer Program. You only need to attend ONE info session.

Teen Leadership Council is another way that you can earn volunteer hours at the library. TLC is open to ALL teens ages 12-18. TLC brainstorms and plans library programming and creates book and interactive displays in the Teen Area. TLC members who attend regularly also earn volunteer hours. Please look for the TLC post for more information.

At EVERY 1st and 3rd TUESDAY TEEN HANGOUT you can now snuggle, de-stress and spend time with ATLAS, our new Teen PAWS dog! WOOF!

Track your reading and library activities between JUNE 1 and AUGUST 15, 2026 to earn FREE books! 

Once registered, you will receive a link to the Unearth a Story Reading log to print out and track your progress. You can also pick up a log at your library- just let them know you already registered. You may complete the Reading Challenge up to 3 times, and earn a FREE BOOK each time!

You may also choose to log your progress electronically using Beanstack (nccde.beanstack.org). 

Bring your completed log to your public library to choose your free book! You may complete up to 3 logs and earn up to 3 books!

All progress must be reported to the library and prize books selected by August 15, 2026.

These TWO 60-minute SAT workshops will be taught by a 1540 scorer and current local HS Senior. Students will learn to recognize a variety of different question types, utilize online websites like Khan Academy and One Prep, and understand better how to respond to certain question types. Participants will also receive pre-test tips and tricks to help with studying and preparation for test day.

PLEASE REGISTER TO ATTEND EACH SESSION YOU ARE INTERESTED IN.

With so many colleges reinstating the SAT requirement for applicants, and most schools reconsidering it, it is now more important than ever that students are equipped with the tools and the knowledge to excel on this important standardized test.   Those in attendance will receive workshop resources and a copy of the presentation after the event.
