-The coral reefs provide protection for the algae and gives the compounds the algae needs for photosynthesis. The algae provides the coral with oxygen and a way the coral can excrete waste. The algae also provides the coral with compounds to do multiple functions. The relationship between the coral reefs and marine algae is one that recycles nutrients between the organisms.
