Suggestion to run a get to know you day with all feeder schools at Richardson in June so that the students with IEP's can meet eachother and tour the resources at the high school.

1. Have Student Success involved with the high school orientation visits.

2. Inform parents that there is no modification at the academic level in high school.

3. Invite a smaller group of identified students for a second high school visit in the spring.

There seems to be such a disconnect between what the students' level and modifications they are receiving at the elementary level compared to what they receive at the secondary level. For example, students must be working in Gr 8 at a modified Gr 5 level, but then go into Gr 9 applied classes and flounder

Good things are happening at PPHS. Lots of activities, events, discussion around transitions from feeder schools. They always ask for our feedback at Transition Team meetings, and we almost always get what we ask for. It's a great team at PPHS.

Our students really enjoy the visit in June, offered to our Identified students. The opportunity to see the Special Education resources and support available at PPHS helps them feel more prepared for the transition from Grade 8 to Grade 9.
