         <description><![CDATA[<div>- One of Mr Sarjeant's all-time favourite jazz standards, 'Birdland' is as fast and furious as you get in big band jazz.<br>- The main solo in this video is played on a <strong>soprano saxophone</strong>. He absolutely rips it up!<br>- His solo starts are 2"30" into the video and finishes 3 minutes later...in jazz solo terms, that's a massive solo!<br>- Notice that whilst he is playing, the rest of the saxophone section are on percussion duty, adding different timbres to accompany his solo.<br>- Buddy Rich is one of the greatest to ever sit behind a drum kit. He was ruthless in his pursuit of performance perfection, as can be seen by the way he drives his band forward in this video.</div>]]></description>
