The videos have a strong relation with the course because they both talks about the way people can use and produce their language and how the brain acts in different situations, there are a lot of advantages to learn a new language, it provides people opportunities to learn about new cultures, to accept and respect different points of view. On another hand, learn and communicate in another language let the people keep a young brain, and avoid it to get severe diseases.
In my personal experience was really difficult to produce English, I could read and write, but, I could not have a conversation. after practicing a lot I get the ability. That is way when I teach English I push and motivate the students to speak since the beginning, I encourage them to talk in order to be selfconfident not matter about mistakes. Learn a new laguage and produce it, it is a challenge and an ability that open our minds and let us to have a new vision around us.

Hi, my name´s Blas. I do believe being bilingual makes the brain react far faster than those who aren´t. Paticularly, the language production and acquisition is more simultaneous ,spontaneous, and a lot easier. Very importantly, all this gives people more tools to enhance and reach different language cultures. German language brought me back to think about this issue. I remember when I was learning it in which some of classmates encountered and face serious drawbacks on acquiring and producing the German language. Conversely, those who spoke another language did great in all 4 language skills

This is awsome. One of the things that impressed me , obviously when I was watching this video, was the term CREATIVITY. I am totally convinced that bilingualism or any word that implies a domineering of several foreign languages connotes the ability of people to understand a variety of discourses, I mean, context, culture, habits, idiosyncrasy, and much more. Definitely, being a bilingual person gives the opportunity to fully understand why people of different cultures behave in a different way. In addition, bilingualism is a key factor to have a healthy brain.

Ernesto MM

It´s very interesting knowing that a bilingual brain works differently than a monolingual brain. Being a bilingual person means that the brain is active almost all the time developing language abilities and improving cognitive skills. For children the benefits are greater, they learn faster, develop their creativity, and focus easily in certain tasks. Learning a second language gives us the opportunity to know different cultures and undertand other´s people behavior

I find the information quite intereting and informative. It is very remarkable that being bilingual fosters our creativity and keeps are brain from getting terrible desases likewise.
I think this videos gives us a clear inroduction to the topics we will study in this course. Such as bilingualism, accents and dialects, languages acquisition, etc. In this video it was mentioned that children learn languages more easily than adults because their brains are more flexible and use both hemispheres when learning a language and adults only use the left side hemisphere. I think that is quite intriguing and stunning. I also learned that learning a foreign language help us undertand other cultures and be more receptive and tolerant.

Hi, my name is Ana. In my opinion, I do believe that bilingual brain has more benefits than the one that is monolingual. Being bilingual gives to the brain faster reactions in language acquisition making the process more concurrent, spontaneous, and easier when using both hemispheres, by exercising them.

Hi, My Name is Martin: The benefits of a bilingual brainAfter seeing the video is easy to infer the vital connection between our brain and the language learning process or vice versa. it also necessary point out that the brain and both hemispheres are related in a holistic way in terms of everything in our brain is intimately interconnected. Needless to say that key functions of our human body receive the command from our brains and select the info, translate either literally or in a context and then order all the thought in a second language in order to speak out. This entire process gives bilingualism a huge impact in our lives. This undoubtedly is related to this course, teaching English is not just a mere pass over of language concepts to the students. After all as teacher we should provide our learners the impact of being bilingual or furthermore multilinguals. If this will resolve problem solving, switching between tasks and focusing on specific info to our student is vital to point out and encourage our own student to be bilinguals in order to obtain all the positive benefits from it.How being bilingual enhances creativityAfter seeing the video what are the benefits of a bilingual brain we cannot leave the holistic way of languages in general and how a language is related not just with the functions of our brain but with all the culture that a language represent in terms of its origin, history, accent or each feature it has at his interior. In this context if we see English just as a language spoken in USA for instance, we are not seeing the fact that the origins of this language is not there but in another place or country where we have perhaps at least 3 different ways of accent and it has also a huge background of culture and history. We cannot leave one of the most important factor when we are getting a second language that is what the language represent or a vision about a place that has everything not just the language itself. So in my humble opinion, language and culture together should be considered all the time in order to acquire a second language

I think that being bilingual develops other cognitive processes in our hemispheres. As the fist video mentions,, there are three types of bilingualism. In many parts of the world, I think that the most common are coordinate and subordinate bilingualism. And compound happens in immigrant children and in some cases in bilingual education in private schools. In my opinion, beign bilingual or multilingual is an asset and it also helps us understand other social contexts, cultures and opens a whole new panorama for us.
