The Nurse is a mini TV series that draws inspiration from the news, taking up events that really happened. The story revolves around Pernille who joined the Nykobing Falster Hospital as a nurse, where she becomes friends with Cristina, a charismatic colleague who everyone admires. He soon suspects there may be more to her than meets the eye.
Pernille realizes that staying with Cristina to work during the night shifts is never a peaceful choice as she immediately realizes something suspicious inside the room of a patient who was found dead, and subsequently the deaths were recurrent.
Pernille thus discovers that it was Cristina herself who killed the patients, who, during the night, secretly administered diazepam and morphine. One of the most important aspects concerns that when Cristina was sentenced, many of the other doctors and nurses at the hospital revealed that they had already had doubts for some time.

The term “anesthesia” means “loss of sensitivity”, caused by some drugs that block the signals reaching the brain, thus preventing you from feeling pain.
The development of anesthetics dates back to the 19th century, one of the first anesthetics was ether, but this could cause vomiting, later it was replaced by chloroform but this could cause sudden death. In the 1920s, intravenous anesthetics were introduced, allowing patients to fall asleep quickly and pleasantly.
Anesthesia can be administered in different ways and not all of them make you unconscious.
Local anesthesia numbs a small part of the body.
Regional anesthesia is used for operations on larger or deeper parts of the body, such as spinal and epidural anaesthetics, used during caesarean sections or bladder operations, you remain conscious but feel no pain.
General anesthesia is a state of controlled unconsciousness in which you feel nothing. It is essential for some operations. today with modern systems, anesthesia is very safe.

MANDATORY -- 2nd year -- What makes a good nurse? What skills are needed? Why do you think you will be a good nurse?

What makes a good nurse is having good communication skills, communication is fundamental for a good therapeutic relationship, this gives the person a sense of security and trust, reinforcing their perception of not being alone and of having someone who listens to them.
Having empathy and relational skills, empathy is a very important skill for nurses, it is important to know how to practice active listening and be able to put yourself in the patients' shoes. Having flexibility and adaptability, the nurse often takes care of multiple patients, and therefore must be able to respond to different needs depending on the person they are dealing with. Reliability, patience and precision, the nurse is the point of reference for the patient, the patient must know that he can rely on the nurse at any time.
I think and hope to be a good nurse one day because it is a job that rewards me, I always try to put myself in the patient's shoes, listening to him and also trying to establish a relationship of trust
