Source from Brooking's institute. Kane and Tomer's article on the importance of parks as essential civic assets, offering environmental, social, and economic benefits. Investments in parks can help address social and economic inequalities, while also attracting knowledge workers and young jobseekers, reinforcing their value. This directly relates to my Civic Engagement Project through my involvement in the infrastructure at Spring Valley Nature center.

This source from the Journal of Enviormental Education asks whether we are doing enough for the youth's education of nature. It calls for the active preservation of nature centers for our use. The study examines how environmental education centers promote sustainability and foster responsible environmental behavior. Through my work at Spring Valley, I contribute to these goals by engaging in habitat restoration, educational outreach, and conservation efforts, reinforcing the center’s role in environmental stewardship. For example, my recent involvement involved organizing materials in the community center at the middle of Spring Valley. This relates to it's importance as it allows others to learn from these examples and gives others direct knowledge about the nature that surrounds them.
