This is connected to salvation of grace because Edward is saying that you should consider yourself lucky to even be in God's hand and he can let you go at any given moment if you choose to anger him any further. It also explains that a person can choose their own destiny by their actions and if they choose to do the wrong thing, they would be punished to hell.
