In 2040, I think medecine will have improved. The medecine will have more personal. Every virus will can be destroyed. The people will be able to live longer thanks to medical progress such as:

- vaccines for any disease, virus or bacteria.

-hispitals will be able to care for 10 times more people.

-for people with mentals problems, chips will be implanted in their skulls to reduce these difficults to help there persons.

In 2040, I think food won't have change. We will continue to cook. More specificities and recipes will of course, be discovered but won't chnge the method for cooking. There will always be water, there will be no pill to drink.

we eat Christmas logs, they are an assortment of ice creams, assembled to form a log with meringue on top to give the appearance of wood with snow on top.

In Canada, it snows a lot. Unfortunately, it doesn't snow much here because of global warming. 30 years ago, it happened that it snowed 30 to 40 cm of snow in Alsace. But sometimes, with luck, it can snow and we can have 5 to 15 cm of snow with luck. So we go out and the battle begins

Today, in class, we imagined what life would be like in 2040. I think medicine will be more advanced and we'll be able to cure cancer, AIDS and Alzheimer's disease. I imagine school will be very different. I think classes will be longer and will be held on computers.

It's almost Christmas! What are the Christmas traditions in your country? In France, where I live in Alsace, there are a lot of traditions. We decorate our house and our tree. We bake Christmas cakes and go to Christmas markets to eat good food and buy gifts for our loved ones. On Christmas Eve, the family gathers to sing carols around the tree and open presents. Then we eat a lot, and the next day, the 25th, we eat even more.

In class we started to imagine how life could be in 2040. we talked about the environment, which in my opinion will change a lot, I hope that global warming will increase and that we will take better care of it and plant more trees. I also think medicine will be more advanced, we will perhaps find a cure for cancer and maybe we will be able to cure other diseases such as Alzheimer's, AIDS and others. With the help of science we will be able to recreate photosynthesis whitout the help of trees.

It is now December, so almost Christmas, and I am going to explain to you our Christmas traditions here in France and more specifically in Alsace.

So first of all during December, we decorate our houses and the Christmas tree. We have Christmas markets where you can buy food, drinks and gifts. Here in Alsace we have the most famous Christmas market around the world which is in Strasbourg. We also bake lots of Christmas cookies.

On Christmas Eve, some people go to church some others not. During the evening, the family gathers together, we sing carols, we eat a delicious meal. After the meal we gather around the Christmas tree and open our presents. The next day, on the 25th, we eat more food and open more presents.

In Alsace, we celebrate Christmas by going to church either on the evening of the 24th or on the morning of the 25th. On the evening of the 24th, we eat with the family. For dessert, we always eat a Yule log. Throughout December, there are Christmas markets in the towns and villages at weekends. We don't get much snow, especially at Christmas. And what is your tradition in your country

Today I'm going to tell you how Christmas is going in my house. We celebrate it on the 24th with all my family. We have a drink and then we open presents. Then we sit down to dinner (we often stay there for hours). Our table is beautifully decorated! And so is our Christmas tree. People in Alsace celebrate more often on the 25th, but we just have a small meal on the 25th. We also make "bredeles" cakes.

I will introduce you to Christmas in Alsace. During the Christmas season in Alsace, everyone puts decorations inside their homes and even some outside. We celebrate it on the evening of the 24th with family, and we eat good food. In my family, we also play Christmas songs and open gifts on the evening of the 24th. In 2040, I think technology will have evolved significantly. There will surely be new vaccines and new medications. Sciences will likely advance a lot. AIs will evolve a lot as well. I think there will be no more notebooks, sheets of paper, etc., but instead there will be computers or other devices for classes. This is how I imagine life in 2040. In Alsace, Christmas is full of traditions. We have a Christmas tree, and we bake Christmas cookies called bredele. We celebrate Christmas with our families on the evening of December 24. We eat great dishes and give each oyher presents.

In 2040, everything will be very different at a school level, and technology will be much more advanced. I think we'll be using hardly any notebooks or pens, everything will be on screen and so on.

I see myself with potentially a job in the medical field, a husband and children. I would like to have traveled to several countries.

First of all I think that a lot will change from now until 2040

In these changes I could mention the school, maybe robots will have replaced teachers and that we will write with tablets instead of copybooks. There are too many things to talk about so I will try to keep this as short as possible.

I think the biggest change will be on the ecological front. If the situation continues to deteriorate so fast as yet, maybe the oxygen outside will be so polluted that we ´ll be forced to wear masks and I really hope that this never happens!

Apart from the world population will continue to grow and we will maybe be forced to eat insects or less meat

These are the negative aspects of the changes and there will probably be good changes

Christmas markets: an unmissable enchantment

Alsace is famous for its Christmas markets, including the one in Strasbourg,

Decorations: an ancient art

In Alsace, houses are richly decorated. Facades are adorned with garlands of lights, fir wreaths, wooden figurines and hand-blown baubles, often made in Meisenthal or Strasbourg. The windows sparkled with paper stars and Saint Nicholas figurines.

The Advent wreath: a symbolic tradition

Every Sunday in Advent, families light a candle on a wreath of fir branches decorated with red ribbons and gold stars. It's a moment of intimacy and contemplation, where we gently prepare for the winter of Christmas.
