She will always go out of her way for you. I remember the many ways she made me feel special. She did not do things haphazardly or made short cuts, what she gives you is always a labor of love.

Mommy was my window shopping/ shopping buddy. I enjoyed just being in the mall with her even to just accompany her anywhere she would like to go. She always wanted to go to "what's new" especially good food. One of our favorite date place was Spice Fusion...

I will miss her cooking. It was one way of her ways of showing that she loves you.

I miss you Mama, I will miss going home and greeting you with a hug and kiss. I will miss sharing a meal on your little table while watching a Netflix series with you on weekends.

I will miss having you physically present. Love you very much Ma.

🌻 Dimples

Mdme Cruz, thank you for the lovegift of working with our hands, you were the teacher who've unknowingly taught my batchmates and I the foundation of being a chef someday (hehe who would have ever imagined that this is the course God has destined for me and you were the angel He sent wayback then to guide and inspire me!), I will never forget my 1st Potato croquettes which are now made famous as Porto's cuban potato balls!!! How you've taught us to de-bone Bangus ( sayang as I've never given it much thought but is soooo valuable today?) The last time so many years ago was when we've talked lengthily while bumping into each other in a mall and we've happily chat ( both of us smiling 'til we parted) while standing up and you were so happy that I've pursued teaching pastry and baking. We've talked about the history of Kinatlo-an on that mall meet-up. Happy baking in heaven Mdme. Cruz!!! Praise God as you are now enjoying His eternal glory with all the angels and saints💕😁

One time at the Bahay Pangarap, she asked me to bring her a saucepan. I kept bringing her all sorts of pots and pans hoping that I would get it right. I finally lucked out on a smallish pot and Mdm. gave me her seal of approval. To this day, I still can't tell between a pot and a saucepan. But I will always remember the recipes we made under Mdm's tutelage. There was brain soup, fish croquettes, Coke-based chocolate cake, cheese sticks and so many more. The cheese sticks became a staple at house parties because they were so good and easy to make. Mdm. left a legacy that my family is able to benefit from when I cook, mend their clothes, fold fitted sheets...the list is endless. Thank you Mdm. Cruz. You will live on forever in the skills you taught us, that we, in turn, will pass on to the next generation.
Joyen 🥰

I remember Tita Loy in Living Word It Park, Joseph and I seated in front as we are listening to Pastor Nic and Tita Loy is at the back of us, she saw how yellow colored the hair of Joseph was at that time, because at the end of the service, she said straight to me, I like the color of your hair just like that , meaning she does not like joseph's hair color. 😊That was funny and frank. 😍. Remembering her❤️ sincerely j s

Two things come to mind when I think about Mde. Cruz
1. Wearing hair nets was fashionable. Mde. Cruz wore that hair net with grace that I looked forward to wearing one myself when I did some cooking during HE. One dish I remember was “eschabeche”
2. One can tell which sardine can had more sardines by shaking it. The one with less swoosh had more sardines packed in it!
( sadly, nowadays…all cans have the same swooshiness! I’m so sorry to tell u Mde. Cruz but the swooshing method is obsolete. I do however catch myself swooshing a can every now and then!😂
Thank you Mde. Cruz for such fond memories of HE!!
This is Teyet Amigo
