Position on the Picture Plane

I felt this painting was a good example of position on the picture plane because of the obvious people down at the bottom of which lower halves are cut off. This leaves the viewer pondering on their own interpretation on whats going on below the picture captured. There's more to be seen other than what is shown.

Overlap/Foreshortening

This shows overlap because of how the lines are positioned over top of each other. For example in the left triceps area and the hip area. This photo also has a good example of foreshortening because the upper back, neck, and head are all drawn smaller to give that emphasis of movement and the person being leaned forward.

This picture reminds me of playing pool. The balls are positioned in a triangular shape and as they go back, they get smaller as if they're further away. This also shows overlap because the ball in the very front is whole, and as they recede they become more covered by the previous ball.

This one is clearly a diagonal for more than one reason. The first reason is because the picture itself is positioned diagonally on the page. Secondly, the stairs each have a unique diagonal line creating that feel that they are 3D.

Atmospheric Perspective

This photo is much like the "Winter Garden" where it has an abundance of methods such as diagonals, overlapping, size, position on the picture plane, etc. This one in particular is atmospheric perspective because as you look into the background, the whole photo fades into a blur until it is just the faint lines of a tree.

Linear Perspective

The train tracks clearly show linear perspective because we as an audience know the parallel lines on the track are exactly the same width across all the way down the tracks, however because of the illusion to look realistic, they must be thinned as they head towards the top of the page.
