      <title>2020 Student Perception Survey Feedback by Danielle Feeney</title>

      <description>In the first semester our students, staff, and community members took a culture and community survey via Panorama. Building Leadership looked through 3 specific results that stood apart: Sense of Belonging (6-8), Emotional Regulation (3-8), and SEL PD (staff). In the summer our BLT reviewed TLCC survey results from Feb. 2020. There were similarities between the 2 surveys in the aforementioned areas that led us to focus on them. Our BLT used the TLCC survey results to develop our #2 Goal (The entire Bison community will support stakeholders’ (students, staff, and parents) emotional awareness and problem solving skills) and committees have developed action items to address that goal. 

Our BLT would like PLCs, character, and wellness to review the Panorama input, alongside our #2 Goal to discuss implications the input may have for the work we do with students. 

On a side note, staff input from the Panorama survey showed a need for additional SEL PD. The input received from PLCs, character, and wellness may help our BLT address that need as well. Please take a moment to review the Panorama student data and share your responses to the prompts on the padlet. BLT will review this information at their Feb. 9th meeting.

         <title>The data suggests that while we are higher than the district average, we still have work to do to help kids feel connnected to the school. Kids feel respected and a part of the community. It also suggests that emotional regulation strategies such as Second Step are helping students recognize and work through strong emotions.</title>

         <title>Use SEL morning time to teach emotional regulation more directly.  There are many SEL supports in school who can come into classrooms and help teach these skills. Utilizing Case, Christa, Simone, and maybe even Jennifer Sardinia could go a long way with this! Implementing an SEL curriculum that is specifically focused on increasing connectedness and regulation could help too. Second Step is great, but doesn&#39;t specifically target regulation.</title>
