The paragraph works together with the central idea because it talks about how the teetering was from old New York to New. The text states "Thanks in part to how the Brooklyn Bridge created the first successful link between the two cities, an expanding metropolis emerged." This evidence shows that the bridge increased the population. Another reason why the paragraphs is relevant to the central idea is because the bridge was or traveling reasons as well. "No bridges existed between the two cities. Travelers used one of the 13 ferry boats that cross east river." This shows that without the bridge they used boats as a transport to the east river. Also the last reason why the paragraphs connected to the central idea is by using the bridge that has been built for the better access to New York's market. "Brooklyn residents saw the bridge as a way to expand commercially as it offered better access to New York's markets." This evidence is explain that the people in Brooklyn only saw the bridge as a better access to New York's markets. This is how the four paragraphs connect to the central idea.
