Tubman escaped slavery in 1849 through the Underground Railroad and later became a "conductor" who helped thousands of other slaves to freedom. Tubman embodied courage in her portrayal of how she risked her life to help people escape slavery. And the fact that she did so several times demonstrates her generosity in assisting others. Because of all the bad choices he made while in office, Jackson could not be on the $20 bill. Consider the Trail of Tears. Why would we choose someone who held slaves and forced a Native American tribe to flee their homeland? The land belonged to the Native Americans first, not Jackson.
