  1. Contrast and Contradiction: CC – Something unexpected or that contrasts and contradicts previous behaviors, words, thoughts, etc.
  2. Words of the Wiser: WW – Someone giving a character good advice
  3. Again and Again: AA – Something that shows up over and over [could be a word, phrase, moment etc.]
  4. Memory Moment: MM – an important memory that shows up in the story
  5. AHA! Moment: AHA – When a character realizes something that changes their thinking
  6. Tough Question: TQ – A question that is hard to answer
Now you will work in your groups to identify as many signposts as you can in the passage provided. This means you must read the passage more than once.
