Months have passed since I applied for a leave of absence from UP Open University and this is the first time in a while that I will write again for a new post here in my padlet. There were a lot of events that transpired over the months -- mostly sad and depressing for my part. I do not wish to bore you out with those drama so instead, let me write something about the not-so-new track that I wish to travel and lead my path into.

Before we get so excited about this new journey that I am pursuing, I'd like to give a recap first about my previous posts if in case you haven't been able to read my previous blog posts for my MMS100 class. At the start of the class, I said that I wanted to pursue Multimedia Studies because I wanted to hone my artistic side. Don't get me wrong, it still holds true. However, when you are faced with so many constraints and challenges in life, you get to a point wherein you have to pick which one to focus on and proceed. Which through the end of the course, I wrote about why I decided to pause for a while; which eventually I then decided to completely stop with the program.

The main consideration why I decided not to enroll in the next trimester back then was due to the fact that I was supposedly up for a training program in my employer bank which would last for months. I thought that I should pause with BAMS because I might not be able to perfectly balance my academics and the crucial training program that I am about to face. It is unfortunate though that during the last minute, my name was dropped from the roster of those applicants for the training program.

I felt completely sad and disappointed with my life that time. I felt like as if I gave so much opportunities and chances just because of that training program. Gimmicks, parties, getaways, and even job opportunities all lost because I was so into that training program. I was that invested and dedicated that the complete reversal of my inclusion hit a serious damage. I'm pretty sure that my supervisor was able to feel my utter disappointment and envy to those included thus, he made sure that I will be able to join one of the modules for that program.

Two weeks after the start of that program, my supervisor sent me to the Techniques of Financial Analysis, and Credit Analysis training modules which were conducted at the Ateneo Professional Schools in Makati. Both modules were handled by Prof. Larry Esguerra IV whom is a licenced CPA and had his MBA from a state university in the USA. Despite my personal biases towards Ateneo and all, I was completely blown away because Prof. Larry was real good! Theory and experience package. And his style reminded me of a professor back in Benilde.

As a non-accountant banker, my knowledge of accounting was really just minimal if not poor. My accounting classes back in undergrad was not good and we were not rigorously educated with theories on the assumption that what we should have is just a perfect appreciation of accounting and not a very in-depth knowledge of it given that we won't be accountants in the future. Boy, I was really wrong. I wish I took it that seriously.
