Its foundations are the scientific methods application and the validity of empirical data. In contrast to Indigenous knowledge, which is typically transmitted orally and by practical application and western information is typically text-based and taught in remote places.

Knowledge is connected and shared with all aspects of nature, including plants, animals, the soil, and the cosmos, according to Indigenous perspectives. The connections between everything serve as the foundation for our comprehension of this knowledge. However, science is frequently perceived as information that can be quantified, kept apart from art and religion, and held by people or organisations.
