Everyone who lived in East Timor, weather it was man, women, or a child. An area that was mainly affected was the capital Dili where the army mostly attacked. NATIONALISM played a big part since the East Timor's didn't want to let Indonesians take control of East Timor

In 1975 the Indonisia invades the island of East TImor many of the people tried resisted and become independent so almost 200,000 people were killed. One of the worst mascaraed was the Santa Cruz Massacred which "rebels" lined up in the Santa Cruz cemetery to fight for their independence, the Indonesian army killed 250 people that day, the INdonesian army enforced a lot of MILITARISM cause

A genocide would be...
-the act of killing many people, and in the East Timor genocide around 200,000 people were killed, which is a lot of people
-If not killing this specific group of people then hurting them severely, which also happened to many people in East Timor from children who were 10 years old to elderly were beat, most women were raped or kidnapped by the Indonesian army.
-The Indonesian Army also cut many of the resources and people also died because lack of food and medication.
So yes I do believe this should be considered a genocide, if the Indonesian army did not enforce so much FASCISM maybe this could have been avoided but it wasn't and 200, 000 people ended up dying.
