I have found that talking to like minded colleagues about negative teaching experiences has allowed me to draw beneficial and worthwhile reflections on my own work.
This session encourages group discussions on a number of case studies gathered from the community - to allow everyone to benefit and learn from the experience without having to have the initial negative outcomes.
If you can please use this Padlet to store notes and thoughts on each of the case studies so that we may learn from each other.

Fiona (thanks to the other contributors)

This is what I was taught about under the banner of "challenging the signature pedagogy". If students have had years to get used to lecture-memorise-exam-pass-next, then trying to introduce flipped elements late in the game is going to be met with extreme resistance - in this case, open rebellion.

The biggest challenge to me would have been getting approval to introduce innovative active approaches at all! To get over that hurdle and then have such a negative reception must be galling.
