The headquarters of the Museo Soumaya Plaza Carso (the first is located in Plaza Loreto) will exhibit around 6,200 works on six floors. Among them are valuable pre-Hispanic pieces and the collection of medals, coins and banknotes of the viceroyalty larger even than that of the Bank of Mexico. The visiting public will also find works by Cézanne, Renoir, Matisse, Diego Rivera, Rufino Tamayo and sculptures by Auguste Rodin.

The building, which began to be built at the end of 2007, was designed by the architect Fernando Romero, founder of the Laboratory of Architecture. It has an area for workshops, a store, a restaurant and an auditorium for 350 people.
