Many argue that prisons can be unethical, due to inmates being used for experimentation as well as generated amounts of income. The private prison business exploits not only those inside, but those willing to support it. I've read that when Trump came in office, he supported for-profit prisons, and revoke the policies the Obama administration put on them. The Trump administration focused a lot on immigrant detention. 

In response, many Dreamers as well as Democrate have rallied against for-profit prisons, seen below. The fought against ICE and the GEO group partnering, saying they are holding children behind bars and much more.

Women empowerment has been a long journey for a lot of us, especially in countries where religion is extremely important. 

In Poland, with the new administration, the government wanted to make abortion illegal. Poland being an extremely catholic based country, felt that women should not have the right to "kill a life", regardless of circumstances. In response, the women of Poland gathered in Warsaw, bringing together one of the biggest protests of all time. With over 30,000 people, the city closed down. We learned that this occurs when a dominant group comes in, and makes their beliefs the norm. If there are other groups in the area, this encounter can result in altercations as well as violence. We learn that those who are involved in cultural imperialism see themselves as invisible while also thinking they are different, as compared to the "dominant" group. The dominant group does not involve those oppressed, and usually refers to them through stereotypes as well as ignorance. 

As of recently, this can be seen with what is happening between Israel and Palestine. Both groups are fighting one another, and both believe that the land they are occupying should be theirs. There are many factors involved, religion, beliefs, etc.
