There are 3 stages during this process, Patria vieja, Reconquista , and Patria nueva. They are divided in 3 because of the things that happened during those times. For example: The king was mad so he sent Mariano Osorio to get his land, so a war happened, then the Reconquista is about the Chileans wanting their land back so they got into war again and we won.
