In addition, I feel that in the article above, the people are facing similar struggles and all for the same reason. This reason is the need for more labor with the most minimum amount of pay given back to them (striping all their strength from them) and making them feel weak, small, and undesired. Throughout the story of "from Letter to Viceroy, Lord Irwin by Gandhi," the people from India were being taken for granted and Great Britain kept taxing them for salt which all of India were against because they payed/gave tons for so little (just like in the article). Even though racial tensions were bad and seem like they were never gonna get better he knew that one day a change was going to come. Though later in the movie she does end up competing again she never gets to compete in the Olympics. And this just devastates her because she has been working her entire life for those Olympics. The story that we read in class the main character goes through something similar. They get diagnosed with a disease that simply has no cure and this disease will just consume them until they no longer have the ability to do things that they once knew to do. Obviously as anyone would do the main character tries to find a way to overcome this. The connection of these two stories is both of the characters just have to learn how to give up.
