A cholesterol test measures you cholesterol levels. The test gives you four results: total cholesterol, LDL (bad) and HDL (good) cholesterol, and triglycerides (blood fats).
How do the patients interpret each value?
A cholesterol test can help determine a patient’s risk of atherosclerosis. High cholesterol levels normally don’t cause any signs or symptoms, so a cholesterol test is an important tool in determining if the patient is at risk for heart disease.
