The “Lights Off” activity conducted every Earth Day- Observing lights off activity during Earth Day is a great way to raise awareness about the importance of energy conservation and reducing our carbon footprint. The lights off activity is a symbolic gesture that represents our commitment towards preserving the planet and combating climate change.

I, myself, am guilty of using electricity in my day-to-day basis; around the house or when I use my iPad to do school activities. It’s (electricity) unavoidable because of it’s convenience to us, so by participating to the “Lights Off” Campaign during Earth Day/Earth Hour, we reduce the emission of carbon gasses that electric companies.

The solution is not a difficult one: reduce, reuse and recycle. Reduce what you're consuming, reuse what you're throwing away and recycle what you have to throw away. Another thing you can do at home is to buy a filter for your tap water.

Humans impact the physical environment in many ways: overpopulation, pollution, burning fossil fuels, and deforestation. Changes like these have triggered climate change, soil erosion, poor air quality, and undrinkable water.

Moreover, planting more vegetation or allotting more vegetation fields, especially in the city could help the environment. In terms of negative activities, I'd say forgetting to turn off electricity at times also contributes to a carbon footprint or waste of energy that is being produced by certain appliances that could also harm the environment itself.
