In its simplest form, hydrogen peroxide is two parts hydrogen and two parts oxygen, so the chemical formula is H2O2. Peroxide comes in two types- volume and percentage- and both achieve the same results.
Percentage peroxide-
This describes the amount of pure peroxide contained- for example, in a 100g bottle, 9% (9g) may be pure peroxide and 91g is water.
Volume peroxide-
for instance where 30vol of peroxide gives off 30 parts of free oxygen.
Peroxide is acidic, with a pH of 3-4. Peroxide works with the ammonia in quasi and permanent colours, and the oxidation process takes place within the cortex
