Hamlet's two friends, as he almost instantly learns, have been assigned spy duty to see if Hamlet is feigning insanity. Polonius is also seen to show his true, venomous self to fake-crazy Hamlet. Both of these situations make Hamlet rage at the fact that those closest to him are basically against him.

Rosencrantz, Guildstern, and Polonius' unfaithfulness makes him more distrustful to the world around him. He is no longer being betrayed just by the grief he feels through his father's death but also by the people around him. It's no longer just in his head. He isn't just lamenting anymore-he's experiencing real anger toward those around him.

Hamlet feels heavy disillusionment with his friends and family because he now understands that he has no one to lean on or trust anymore. He will likely never trust anyone in his circle anymore because most have betrayed him in some way and invaded his privacy. He acted crazy, but as the scene went on it seemed more real and could foreshadow how he is actually going to become crazy and start killing people in the future. In the scene's beginning, he was being funny, but as the scene went on, he started getting more passionate and angry with his words.

In this scene Hamlet's interactions with the people close to him show his disillusionment through the change-ups in his personality. As Hamlet discovers that his friends Rosencrantz and Guildenstern have been sent to spy on him by his parents, he feels betrayed. This is because that he's been friends with those 2 since youth and the fact that they'll trust his uncle and mom over him may make him distrust humanity. When Hamlet interacts with Polonius (when Hamlet acts crazy) it can be seen that at times he's being sarcasting, at one point he even references his life as useless. All of the interactions in Act 2 have basically caused Hamlet to not trust anyone which in turn causes him to plan a play in which he will see if there's enough reason and evidence to actually take revenge.

Hamlet's interactions with Rosencrantz, Guildenstern and Polonius reflect his growing sense of disillusionment with the world & his relationships because he analyzes the way they interact with them, believing that though they think he is not as smart as them, despite the fact that he was easily able to figure Rosencrantz & Guildenstern were tasked to spy on him. He puts on the mask of insanity with Polonius to make him believe that there is something wrong with him, so Polonius can in effect reveal how he sees Hamlet in regards to his intellectuality and mannerisms.

When Hamlet first talked to Polonius and was acting crazy, he talked about how rare an honest man was, which shows that he had started catching onto the fact that the people around him were fake, and was slyly calling Polonius out. When Hamlet realized Rosencrantz and Guildenstern were sent by Claudius, he wasn't even surprised, which shows that he had already suspected Claudius would spy on him. Hamlet becomes increasingly distraught, and he tells about how life seems meaningless to him now numerous times. His feeling of betrayal from the entire world around him made him lose his sense of purpose in living in the world.

Hamlet is supposed to be good friends with Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, yet they are dishonest with him and won't even admit they are spying with him until Hamlet discovers it himself. Knowing his friends are hiding things from him causes Hamlet to lose faith in his friends. They are no longer someone who can trust. Furthermore, Hamlet's exchanges with Polonius aren't genuine. They are filled with mockery and deceit as Polonius tries to determine why and exactly how crazy Hamlet is. Hamlet isn't oblivious to this- he realizes this and he further loses trust in Polonius as well. The lies and deception surrounding Hamlet highlight Hamlet's inner emotions about the world. Hamlet feels lied to and cheated by a growing number of people close to him, and this drives his disillusionment with the world and his relationships, ultimately driving him to his monologue at the end of Act 2, Scene 2.

Hamlet realizes that his childhood friends Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are spying on him. This most likely greatly impacted his sense of disillusionment as if he can't trust his own childhood friends, who can he trust? Hamlet's interaction with Polonius while pretending to be crazy also reveals to him Polonius' true thoughts and character. The contrast between what Polonius' character previously appeared to be and what it was revealed to be also contributed to Hamlet's distrust of those close to him.

In Act 2,Scene 2 of Hamlet, I believe his interaction with Rosencrantz and Guildenstern as well as Polonius made him more aware of who he should trust. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern were sent by his parents to spy on Hamlet, and hamlet found out and made him feel betrayed because they were supposed to be his friends. And with Polonius and his not faithful self makes Hamlet lose trust in him. Hamlet no longer trusts anyone he comes into contact with and is starting to think about what's real and not. If his own "friends" are sent to spy on him, who else is there. So in the end, Hamlet loses trust in everything and is feels very betrayed by everyone.

During Scene two, Hamlet very lightly confronts his friends when he finds out they've been sent to spy on him. He seemed very shocked but didn't overreact towards them. After they left though, he was monologuing and plotting to have a 'gotcha' moment to expose his uncle in front of everyone. He feels a lot of disillusionment but did a good job of hiding it, or he was processing it because his emotions are much more clear.

With Polonius showing Hamlet's love letter to Ophelia to his mother and uncle. It creates a sense of distrust, knowing that something that you wanted to be private between you and someone else is now being shared to people you already have a sense of distrust for as one of them killed your father and the other one married the man who killed your father.

And then Rosencrantz and Guildenstern both betrayed Hamlet's friendship by accepting to spy on him for Hamlet's mother and uncle. Shows how the people who are supposed to be there for you and who you count on, especially during hard times are now also going behind your back. It makes it feel as you can't trust anyone, having a sense of fear that whatever you do or whoever you go to, is secretly going to be used or working against you. So Hamlet is starting to have trust issues with everyone around him as he doesn't know who he can trust. Also, since he was already dealing with a lot to begin with, he may feel like the world doesn't care about him and more on what benefits themselves the most, causing him to question is place in life and in other people's lives.

Hamlet stops finding value in his relationships with other people because his friends he once trusted were actually summoned by the king to spy on him and Polonius belives he is mad and is humoring him rather than having an actual conversation with him. This leads him to be more disilusioned with the idea of people being trustworthey so he sinks in to his mad persona without anyone he trusts to act sane around as shown by his rantng about the actor. His disilusionment isolates him from the people who could help him reckon with his circumstances making it harder and harder for him to find his way back to sanity.

Overwhelmed with emotion, the prince decided to play into Polonius' view on him, further convincing him. In act 2, scene 2 Hamlet is already having people talk behind his back and discuss their personal opinions of him, which he is aware of this, they are saying he is crazy and losing it; he later finds out his friends were tasked to spy on him and later retreat to Hamlets parents and tell them every intimate conversation held between themselves and Hamlet. Hamlet has so much to deal with and on top of losing his father and his mother marries his uncle, BUT now he has his personal love interest showcasing his personal love letter, and now his closest friends are getting paid to invade Hamlets personal life. He is unfortunately rapidly losing faith in the society that surrounds him. Which is beyond fair considering what is happening in his life.
