         <description><![CDATA[<div>Length<br>males-  12-14 ft<br>females- 8-12 ft<br><br>On average they weigh between 120-520 lbs. <br><br>Adult American crocodiles are brownish-green, have a long narrow pointed skull, and a streamlined body. Young crocodiles are a lighter tan color.  The coloration of the crocodiles allows them to blend in with the brackish water they live in.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Both male and female American crocodiles reach breeding maturity between 8-10 years old, and mate yearly.   The fight for females begin in the months of January and February.  The gestation period for females in between 2-3 months, and they typically lay 30-60 eggs in April or May with the sex of the offspring determined by the temperature of the environment.  </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Mother crocodiles are very protective of their nests, but once the babies are hatched the mother helps them get into the water.  Once in the water, the babies disperse all over the habitat and are left alone by the mother.  Due to them being left alone,  baby crocodiles have a very high mortality rate.    </div>]]></description>
