2.) The two poems are different because Maya Angelou uses more metaphors while Amanda Gorman talks more straightforward. I think this because Amanda Gorman's poem states, "I think that there has definitely We are striving to forge a union with purpose To compose a country committed to all cultures, colors, characters and conditions of man." Another difference in the poem is that Amanda Gorman's poem is a lot longer than Maya Angelou's poem. 
3.) I think that there has been a little bit of growth in between the time that Maya Angelou recited her poem, to when Amanda Gorman recited her poem. I think this is because people are more accepting, now, and there is less racism. I know this because Amanda Gorman's poem says, "We the successors of a country and a time Where a skinny Black girl descended from slaves and raised by a single mother can dream of becoming president

only to find herself reciting for one."

3. Amanda gormans writing is more about the modern struggles. Like I believe she talks about the insurrection  when she says "We’ve seen a force that would shatter our nation

Would destroy our country if it meant delaying democracy

3. I think that there has been small amounts of progress including the length of the poem and the words used are much deeper.

3. There has been progress with the civil rights movement since "On the Pulse of Morning" because now, "white only signs" aren't allowed.

That even as we tired, we tried." This shows us that both poets were trying to give the message that we are all growing.

2. One difference I see is that Amanda Gorman's poem is much quicker and flows better than Maya Angelou's poem. I know this because, in Amanda's speech, she talked very fluently and didn't pause as much as Maya.
3. Since Maya Angelou's poem was made, I think there has been some progress because racism has became much less of a problem and there is much more unity.

 "On The Pulse of Morning" felt more about a single person's journey, and about how the reader/listener alone needs to be courageous and strong. As Angelou wrote, "The Rock cries out to us today, you may stand upon me, but do not hide your face." This quote drives the importance of a single person's bravery, rather than talking about unity.

3. I think that, while there is still lots of work to be done, the issue of discrimination has gotten much better since the beginning of the Clinton presidency. For example, gay marriage was legalized, and people began protesting more about hate crimes.

Isn’t always just-ice". Maya Angelou says in her poem "Any broad alarm of their hastening doom Is lost in the gloom of dust and ages". Both of these poems talk about the past and what lives in the past have faced. This is one of the similarities between both poems.
2. One of the differences in the poems I see is that Maya Angelou uses personification, giving life to an object. In the poem she writes "But today, the Rock cries out to us, clearly, forcefully,  Come, you may stand upon my

But seek no haven in my shadow,

I will give you no hiding place down here.". In this part of the poem she explains to not hide in shadows and to stand up, and while explaining this she uses personification. Instead of using personification Amanda Gorman uses more metaphors. 
3. I believe that Maya Angelou's poem was very inspiring and may have changed people's opinions from earlier and have a great influence. I believe that this poem influenced and encouraged more equity. Maya Angelou had went through many hard times during her life according to the video, and writing the poems that she writes shows that she is still going. Because of poems there is more hope, positivity, and equity.

We close the divide because we know, to put our future first, / we must first put our differences aside". This implies how we are growing to become a nation that accepts everyone.

3. I think there has been evolution after her poem, but I also think new problems have come up, but that's how life is going to evolve.
