Reason for the War: Paris(son of Trojan king) fell in love with and took Helen who was the wife of Menelaus of Sparta. His brother then led an expedition to retrieve her.
Major Parties Involved: the Trojans, the Greeks, and the gods
The Trojan Horse Explained: The Greeks retreated but left a large wooden horse outside of the gates of Troy. The Trojans then brought the ‘gift’ into the city. The horse was actually full of Greek warriors and when night fell they came out of the horse and attacked the city.
Outcome of the War: the Greeks won and went home (slowly).
