It is also widely accepted that not only can retailing lead to various environmental problems, but it can also be harmful to humans and animal species. Perhaps the most pressing problem is that the production of fast fashion garments icreases the levels of plastic in oceans. I find this practice totally unfair, because it means that small marine species, that can also been eaten by humans, are likely to eat the microfibres that are produced by these companies. During the clothes’ production, not only human rights are being jeopardized, but the environment is being polluted as well. For instance, workers at the fast fashion factories are most likely low paid (despite their 15-hours daily shift), work under poor conditions and some of them are underage. Referring to fast fashion and its impacts, i wanted to express my personal opinion on this topic. From my perspective, production is pushing our natural systems to the absolute limit and that's why i consider this aspect of fast fashion as the one with the worst implications. In fact, i predicated my viepoint on fast fashion industry's CO2 emissions that outdo 1.2 billion tons per year and production's global wastewater approximating 20%.
