This is appropriate for all elementary school students, as not only is there a picture of the feeling, but the word is also listed. This can especially be helpful for kindergarteners and first graders to connect the word with the feeling.

This is similar to the feeling assessment, however, stars can be used for how a student also feels about a lesson. If they are a 5 then they can teach a friend, and 1 meaning they need to completely relearn. This is appropriate for all elementary schoolers.

Everyone must go around the circle and share their rose, thorn, and bud of the day. This means that everyone must explain their favorite part of the day or week, least favorite part, and something that they hope for in the future. This is an important activity for all elementary schoolers because they assess their week or day and reflect on what they want in the future.

In my experience, this type of activity is a great ice breaker and an effective way for students to learn each others names and make connections. If two students find something in common, they can immediately form a bond. At the end, the teacher can read each box and students can raise their hand to share who filled the criteria in the box. This way, even if you did not get to talk to a specific student, everyone gets to learn about each other. This creates a fun and comfortable class setting. This is best for high elementary grades because this activity involves reading and writing down another person's name.

Finish the statement. Students will receive a sheet of paper with incomplete sentences. The students must fill in the rest of the sentences to be true to them. For example, some of the sentences may include, "I am good at...", "I need help with...", "my favorite part of the day was...". This activity is good for all elementary school students, as the upper grades can be more elaborate in their sentences, and lower grades can practice writing.
