Consistent because kids need to feel safe. Caring because students need to know they're loved. Thoughtful, because students all learn differently. I will say what I mean, and mean what I say. Mostly, that means I'll love my kids and I'll do anything to see them succeed.  I think this world needs more love, and with that comes success!

I will also help each and every student on a individual basis. Thus allowing me to get to know each student personally. My daughter had one teacher that did that and she still has those notes and cards and I know she will never forget that teacher. Now days, it would be so easy to do it because you can do it all online and have it mailed directly.  Best though, is the handwritten notes. I want my students to know that they are important enough to take the time to physically write a note to them. There is something about getting mail that kids just love and especially if it is recognizing something positive they have accomplished.

If a child feels like they can't do it, I want to be that teacher to help them discover that they can. Some students do not have that support by their family or close friends, so where else are they ever going to learn it from? and I may never know whether they do know or not. So in my classroom we will never say "I can't do it" because there always is a way. It may not be easy, but it will be done. They will all make a difference in their own lives and in the lives of others.
