Although the issue revolving the hashtag serves as a life-depleting moment for many, it was a time for a revolution. I am so proud of my former schoolmates for standing up for themselves and for sharing their stories. I believe that he did not die due to COVID-19 but rather, I believe he died because of the unfair healthcare system in the Philippines. When he had difficulty breathing and was down on his knees due to so much pain, his family rushed him to 13 hospitals where he was not provided help in any of them. He died in a tent, unfortunately, and was cremated without his family saying their last goodbyes. From months of studying to countless essay drafts, I ended up getting a rejection letter. Despite this, I gave myself a second chance and I appealed. With faith in myself and in God, I finally made it in Ateneo, one of the best things to have happened to me.
