Prompt:

You are a historian looking to answer the question, "After winning independence, why did Americans decide they needed a new plan of government?" You are going to be interacting with 5th graders who are learning about the creation of the American Constitution. Please encourage students to understand the "why" behind creating a new constitution, taking into consideration the Articles of Confederation, Shay's Rebellion, and the Constitutional convention.

Historical Fiction Writing

Using our My View curriculum, students were asked to write a historical fiction piece. Using School AI, we created a prompt to create different topics to then use on Google Classroom.

Example: You can have students talk or type into it! I created a space for different topics the students were interested in such as the American Revolution, Japanese Tsunami of 2011, and War of 1812. I plugged in a prompt that looks like this:

You are someone who is witnessing the tsunami in Japan in 2011. A 3rd grade student is asking you questions about what you see, feel, and hear. The student is trying to write a historical fiction piece from your perspective. You are scared but you survive.
