My name is Aldana Agustina Córdoba. I’m 34 years old, and I was born in Buenos Aires, although I’ve been living in the province of Misiones for the past 14 years. I’m an English teacher and I work in two public schools. I live with my partner, two cats, and two dogs.

I decided to study English translation because it gives me the possibility of living somewhere else. I'm very interested in working remotely and having more flexibility. I also wanted to challenge myself, step out of my comfort zone, and—despite not having much free time—continue learning.

To be honest, I had no expectations about this subject since I didn't know what it was about, but it sounds very interesting to learn more about English history and culture, and I know it will be beneficial for our performance as translators.

I'm eager to expand my knowledge this year and take three subjects in English, as I'm currently looking for part-time or freelance work as a translator to gain experience in the field. 🥰🌺

2) I studied at an English school all my junior and senior years, and during high school we learned a lot about British history, geography, culture and society. I even danced for many years in a Highland Dancing, Pipes and Drums Band, so I experienced Scottish traditions, music, food, etc, sharing with the small Scottish community in Buenos Aires. I’ve visited England, Scotland and Ireland, and I found them beautiful and amazing, so I guess I will someday visit Wales and the beautiful isles that I am learning now about.

So my expectations for this subject is to reinforce and renew what I know, and to have pleasant readings that don’t feel like studying.

3) I am a flight attendant in Aerolineas Argentinas. It’s been 20 years now and still enjoying it, although sometimes can be exhausting. I am happily married and the mother of three kids adopted from Russia in 2020. Now they are 17, 14 and 11… and it’s been quite a ride! I must mention our sweet Golden Retriever that brings joy, tenderness and calm, when things get tough. 🩷🦮
