- Climax of the writing contest - The protagonist wins the writing contest. He is summoned to the deans office and is expelled for plagiarizing.

- Character development - The protagonist undergoes significant development as he navigates through many obstacles and challenges on his journey.

- In the end the protagonist plagiarizes in the writing contest. My prediction was right. He thought he could do more then he could handle. This made hum choose a very bad path and plagirize.

George Plimpton is my favorite character so far. Plimpton gives a lot of inspiration to the students. He is shown as a big role model for the students. He provides a lot of benficial feedback to the boys on their writings so they can ultimately become better writers.

Purcell is still my least favorite character. He shows no fairness to the other students. This destroys his reputation as a disliked character within the school community. All he cares about is his own personal growth no matter what may occur.

- Encounter with Ayn Rand - Ayn visits the school for the writers program. The protagonist talks to her with ideas and some experiences of admiration towards her philosophical writings.

- Relationships - The protagonist goes through some confusing relationships with his classmates. They form a sort of rivalry. This shows what the environment is like within the school.

- Reflections - The protagonist experiences some moments of self discovery. He receives some personal growth which all contribute to his discovery of himself and as a writer.

Purcell is my least favorite character so far. He is a very privileged kid who is very arrogant and shows his control and dominance over other students because of his wealth. He walks around with a lot of entitlement within the school. He is cocky.

This quote shows logos by supporting a viewpoint held by the main character. This is a common technique displayed by authors to allow readers to convey their own arguments

“As the protagonist listens to the visiting writer recounts tales of struggle and triumph, he feels a string in his chest - a deep yearning for his own voice to be heard, for his own story to matter in the vast tapestry of literature”

This quotes shows pathos by diving into the protagonists emotional desires for recognition and achievements by his peers and role models.

- Introduction to the school - The protagonist describes the prestigious boarding school he attends. The setting plays an important role in the events and themes that will be occurring.

- First Writers Visit - Robert Frost arrives at the school. His presence excites the students and all eagerly wait till they can interact with him and his literature.

- Encounter With Frost - The protagonist has a brief encounter with Robert Frost. He shows Frost a poem that he wrote and wants to get his thoughts. He tries to impress him as a writer.

The protagonists eagerness to impress Robert Frost may cause him to make mistakes and be clumsy. He may plagiarize his writing just to make him sound smarter which would ultimately affect his relationship with Frost and his friends.

I choose this emoji because it shows the excitement that all of the students have upon Frosts arrival. The protagonist has a great desire and if filled with excitement to meet Frost. This causes him to develop a lot of anticipation for what the future will hold.

The author is making an argument about the ambition that is rising within the protagonist. He makes an argument based on the length the protagonist will go to achieve recognition from Frost. He makes his argument through the protagonists thoughts and actions. The author uses a pathos argument due to the expression of the main characters emotions and feelings that are occurring.

- The Visit of Plimpton - George Plimpton visits the school as a part of a series by the writers. His presence adds to a lot of anxiety for the protagonist to once again show his abilities.

- Plimpton's Request - George requests for a writing contest within the students. He says that the winner will have their work published in a magazine. This causes a lot of tension within the students.

- Competition - The competition escalates drastically within the school due to the contest presented by George. Thus tension causes new tension between new students.

My prediction went great. I knew that the protagonist was going to go down a bad path just to win this contest. He thought he could handle more than he could. This made him plagiarize and was ultimately caught and expelled. He did all the work and stress for nothing, but along the way he did peruse some personal growth.

The characters in this book are a lot better developed. Each student has their own motivations and struggles. I deeply tried to understood what each character was going through which made me pay a lot of more attention to the book.

This quote shows the protagonists struggle with challenges and integrity for success. This shows the lines between ready and fiction all faced by writers trying to make it.
