North Korea's development and testing of nuclear weapons, ballistic missiles, and other weapons of mass destruction, as well as its human rights abuses, have led to international condemnation and sanctions from the United Nations and individual countries.

The economic sanctions have had significant impacts on North Korea's economy, leading to shortages of essential goods, reduced foreign investment, and limited access to international financial systems. However, the regime has also used illicit means to evade sanctions, including smuggling and cybercrime, mitigating some of the intended effects.

Syrian economic sanction/embargo began in 2011, following their civil war. The US put an embargo on the oil sector.

The reason the US and other countries put international sanctions on Syria was that the country was repressing its citizens during their civil war.

Since the beginning of the sanction in 2011 Syria has been deprived of 107 billion dollars in oil and gas earnings, causing complete economic destruction to their country.

Iran

The first economic sanction between Iran and The United States was in 1979 after a group of radical students seized the American Embassy in Tehran and took hostages. Iran was the most sanctioned country globally until Russia surpassed it in 2022. These sanctions have affected Iran's economy and people badly. Especially increasingly affecting vulnerable patients as deliveries of medicine and raw materials for Iranian pharm.

Ukraine, Crimea

Ukraine, Crimea sanction began in 2014, imposed by President Obama prohibiting the export of US goods in this region.

The US and other countries put these sanctions on these regions of Ukraine due to the growing political tension between Russia and they imposed this sanction due to respect for Ukraine.

Since the beginning of the sanctions in 2014 Ukraine, Crimea the region has been under economic strain. But the country isn't in complete chaos yet.
