I think that it is trying to show us its instantaneous speed and acceleration because its kind of blurry as it goes through the cloud. In science we're learning about the scientific definition of speed (instantaneous) and motion. (But we don't necessarily a cloud because there is no other clouds around, also it is very round and most clouds aren't that even.)

We think that the image is demonstrating instantaneous speed because it looks like it's sort of blasting off and becoming faster so it leaves behind a cloud of exhaust. (It's basically accelerating from it's average speed.) We are learning speed in science and this is an example of it. The jet appears to be moving because with the cloud a bit behind as a frame of reference the jet looks to be moving through it. For the cloud to form it needs to break the sound barrier.
