Children benefit from grabbing and maneuvering these props which they may have not been exposed to previously. Having costumes available for young students is also beneficial in that they then feel that their play is important and they will take their part to play more seriously.

There are endless amounts of possible block activities as we can see in this article by Hands On As We Grow and several could be taught to my audience. One activity in particular which I think would be beneficial is instructing students to build towers to match a picture which is given to them. This will allow them to use their senses in order to recreate an image given to them and introduces them to something challenging. As the teacher it would also be important to ask the students how difficult they find it to recreate the block image? and would they be willing to participate in a new experience like this again?

Asking questions such as "Where do you think this ______ came from?", "What do you notice about it?", etc. This opens them up to another form of creation and allows them to experience new ways of thinking which challenges them.
