Palacio, Auggie Pullman is the main character and he plays a huge part in the plot. Jack also plays a huge part in the plot. Auggie is very brave and unique. He is very brave because he stood up to Eddie and his gang. As stated in the text,"Look I said stepping in front of Jack and holding my hand up like a traffic cop. We are a lot smaller than you guys"(Palacio,266). Auggie is also unique because of his deformed face. Auggie says,"I know I am not your ordinary ten year old"(Palacio, 3). Jack can be described as loyal and accepting. Jack is accepting because he decided to help Auggie besides his deformity. Jack say," yes I'll do it"(Palacio, 141). This states that Jack wants to help Auggie even with his deformity. Jack is also loyal because he stands up for Auggie. As stated in the text, "And thats when I punched him, right in the mouth"(Palacio, 154). Jack punched Julian for saying that Auggie is a freak. This means that no matter what  you look like, you have the chance to be brave. Auggie is deformed and he thought he would never have the courage to be brave. He was extremely brave when he stood up for himself and Jack when Eddie was making fun of them. In conclusion the theme of wonder is, bravery comes in all shapes and sizes.

In the rising action, Auggie gets toured by Jack, Julian and Charlotte. Then Jack punches Julian for saying something mean about Auggie. In the climax, Auggie stands up for himself against Eddie when he makes fun of him. In falling action, Julian gets suspended and Auggie gains popuularity. Auggie now is known for fighting the 7th graders at the nature retreat rather than having a deformed face. The book was also a little confusing for me. The novel was really good though. It was inspiring.
