I'm Emily, I live in Temple, Texas, and I work at Baylor Scott and White Memorial Hospital on 5 North, which is a trauma/specialty surgery med surg floor. I'm in the BSN program in order to become a Nurse Practitioner, but I haven't decided which specialty yet. I am at my one year mark since beginning my nursing career, and I am ready to move onto the next challenge, which is the ED. I am also hitting my eight year mark in the US Navy, the first four I spent active duty, and these last four I've been in the Reserves. I plan on staying in the reserves for as long as possible. I have never been married, and have no human children, but I do have two dogs. They are my babies, and I wouldn't trade them for the world. I also love traveling the world, and especially scuba diving. One day I may look into travel nursing when I have more experience. Anyway, life is amazing, and there isn't just one thing that makes it that way, so I don't know how to answer that question. I'm just incredibly grateful for my family, my dogs, my friends, the opportunities and experiences I've had, my job. The most amazing thing in my life is my little family.   I have an amazing husband I met while working at Baylor in Dallas.  We have 2 children together a boy and girl, 4 and 3.  My husband is also an RN, who is also in school obtaining his BSN through a different program.  Needless to say, this is a challenging time for us but, like the rest of us we'll get through it.  Let's all just keep our eye on the prize, stay focused, we can do this!!
