    Diagnosis
    The doctor can see and ask about the symptoms and get your skin scraping or nail sample send to the laboratory to confirm ringworm.
    Treatment
    Clotrimazole cream or lotion can be used as an ointment to get rid of rashes and flaky skin.
    Other antifungal medications used to treat ringworm on the scalp includes Griseofulvin (Grifulvin V, Gris-PEG), Terbinafine, Itraconazole (Onmel, Sporanox), Fluconazole (Diflucan).
