There were also these bugs called Boll Weevils that would eat the cotton plants.
Carver invents an idea called Crop Rotation. One year, the farmers plant peanuts, making the soil better AND drawing Boll Weevils away since they don't like peanuts. But farmers don't think peanuts will sell well, so Carver makes many, many things with the peanuts he receives.
