This was good since many people wanted their rights after British rule
-The central government had limited powers, which made them too weak to directly control people so they couldn't take away peoples rights.
-Every state got one vote in congress, so every state was treated equally in congress and each got their voices heard.
-Canada was able to join if they wanted to. This was good because the Articles clearly stated that Canada could join, unlike the Constitution.
-Only congress could sign treaties. This made the states somewhat united because they all had the same foreign alliances and enemy's.
-Only congress could issue coins, making all states have the same coins.
-Any state could join if it had a population of 60,000 and didn't have slaves. Without this law, many states wouldn't be here, and it was also the first document that gave a way for states to join.

This is bad because without money from taxes, it would be hard to support the nation.
-Congress didn't have a national army, and couldn't force states to supply soldiers. This is the reason British soldiers weren't giving up their forts after the war. It also caused America to not be able to fight the blockades.
-One branch government. There was nobody to check the actions of the legislative branch, since there was no executive and judicial branch, there was no national court system and no one to enforce the laws. With no national court system, trials could be biased, because the trial would be on one state's territory
-Congress didn't regulate interstate commerce, so states had different currencies, making it hard for any merchants that live on state borders or trying to trade with people in another state.
-Extremely hard to make a law, it took 9/13 states to make a law, which was hard because many states had different view points on government. With the Articles, the government couldn't raise an army to fend off the rebellion. There were many other reasons for why the articles failed though. The Articles Couldn't collect taxes, it only had one branch of government, it didn't regulate state trade, and it was extremely hard to make a law. States had to much power in the Articles and because of that, the National Government couldn't control them. They were too weak, and states having all the power made them stop caring about the problems of the country, and made them start caring about themselves only. There was no one to check the actions of states or the national government since there was only one branch of government.
