 Unfortunately, there is no specific answer to this question.

 I would hope you have a good in-depth working knowledge  of several papers to allow you to be able to compare and contrast the clinical effectiveness of manual and movement therapy interventions related to your specific case study case study.

 Further you are asked to critically discuss patient centred care and  impact of patient expectations—these can be quite generic papers which can potentially be applied across all four case studies.

 In addition you need to critically consider the evidence behind relevant contemporary neuromusculoskeletal theories, and their implications for assessment. Again this literature can be generic and apply across the range of case studies.

 If you can support any of your potential hypotheses with critical reference to the research base, then that would certainly be beneficial.

However, this may not always be possible-thus you will be asked to demonstrate your clinical reasoning i.e. -which of the patients presenting signs or symptoms are consistent with your chosen hypotheses?

 My apologies! –In truth--I do not completely understand your question.

Hopefully we are aware that a single source of MSK pathology can manifest itself in multiple symptoms. e.g. C6 radiculopathy vertebral disc in origin can potentially cause local neck pain, potentially medial scapula discomfort ( Cloward’s zone),  potentially lateral forearm discomfort and potentially biceps weakness.

Alternatively, we are hopefully aware we can suffer with multiple MSK issues simultaneously. eg. Somatic pain from C4-5 facet Combined with lateral epicondylalgia  cause forearm discomfort and weakness due to pain on elbow flexion ( thus mimicking a C6 radiculopathy).

Thus the key here is to clearly demonstrate your clinical reasoning by clearly explaining how you would differentiate between the two conditions. What would your must/ should/ could plan look like?  What difference in your examination findings would you expect?

When requesting additional subjective information, you will asked to justify your clinical reasoning, explaining clearly -- why this extra information would potentially be helpful!

          If you can support your clinical reasoning with reference to some appropriate literature this would clearly add depth to your argument.

How to connect it to the case studies ?

 Sorry this request is beyond the parameters of padlet!

          Can I recommend you revisit the Support resource ‘Task One: The Viva Voce—in Plain English!’—from Folder 5 which clear outlines what is expected for each the Learning Outcomes

 In addition to visiting the ‘ CMR Assessment UPDATED Support Task One: Viva’ from Folder 6 which outlines a number of questions linked to the case study!

The order in which you address manual therapy, exercise education and ‘person centred’ care is purely up too you!—please don’t forget to offer a little critique!

  You will be given the case study and 10 mins to read your notes.

The subsequent viva will ideally last 30 mins—you will be stopped at 35mins!

 We would expect a range on generic screening questions to be asked.

Then any specifics questions around your primary hypotheses!

Yes! your reflection needs to be personal!

          It could based upon a previous clinical case study from your internship or previous clinical experience.

 Having now completed the CMR module on reflection would you treat your patient differently?

          You could reflect around your understanding of the bio-psycho-social model or person centred care or behavioural change.

 (Remember support with critical reference to the research base) – critically consider how your extended knowledge it has impacted on your decision making or management plan.

Potentially consider applying the different stages of one of the  recognised reflective models to structure your assignment.

 You can use two critical incidences to demonstrate your learning—remember 2000 word – Max 2000 plus 10% (2200 words—over this limit potential penalty).

 Reflection can be written in the first person—apologies if you were directed otherwise!

The SMART action plan needs to be included in the Appendix --this way it is not included in your word count!

Yes! – remember the words within the diagrams/ flowcharts/ tables/ cycles within the body of the text will be included in the word count!

Yes!  -- you can mix  the frameworks!—but make sure you justify why!

Alternatively, compare and contrast the frameworks.

 Just be wary if you go over 2200 marks you will be deducted 10 marks—so use the Appendix wisely!

  Consider including a detailed case study within the Appendix—and potential a couple of sentences clarifying the salient points within the text.

  Don’t forget any case study/ reflective models tec. you place within the Appendix to you need to refer within the body of the text!—if not your reader does not have to consider it!—thus not marks gained!

You can reflect across 3-4 areas I would just be aware of the word count (be wary if you go over 2200 marks you will be deducted 10 marks).

Remember depth and quality gains more marks than quantity!
