A. What makes this space distinct from others? - It’s a park but specifically a playground for an elementary school of K-6.

B. Who has entry to this space, and who does not? - No matter what race, ethnicity or gender you have, everyone including kids, teenagers, and adults are all allowed within this space.

• Why might that be? - This is the schools playground which makes the space inclusive for everyone as the location of this school is very diverse and open for everyone.

What kind of rights or identities do one need to gain entry to this space? - You could be a kid who is going to the school to play here you but don't exactly have to be. For example, me and my siblings went to this school when we were younger. But now as we're all grown up, it doesn’t stop us from continuing to go to the park. We are still allowed to go. Everyone has an entry to this park, except like dogs because this obviously not a dog park. It’s a park for children to play in.

C. What do you know about this space? - It's a space made for students to play in during recess hours. It's also a space me, my siblings, and my cousins all grew up in since we all went to this elementary school when we were younger. And besides even school hours, we still go to the park during the evening to play which brings back so many memories. Me and my siblings still go there till this day.

Through walking research, I’ve come to see walking as more than a simple act of movement. But rather, it’s a way of thinking, sensing, and engaging with the world around us. Springgay and Truman’s Walking Methodologies describe walking as a relational and embodied practice that connects research to place, memory, and the more-than-human environment. Similarly, the AIF article emphasizes how walking allows us to notice the everyday textures, rhythms, and inequalities that shape the spaces we move through. Together, these perspectives, I was able to see how walking research can deepen my awareness of how our bodies interact with the environment, revealing how lives, histories, and social forces are embedded in the spaces we inhabit.

I have the biggest circle of influence within sports as I play sports, such as basketball or football, every day with my brothers. Since I grew up with brothers, I've tended to grow an arm and just loved playing sports since first grade. But unfortunately, due to strict parents, I never got the chance to join an actual sports team.

As of now, I have the least amount of authority in university as I've just joined it and I'm still trying to grow within my major and see what it's all about and if I would handle all of the work or not.

Over the years, I've slowly started to gain influence over the friends I have and make. I've learned how to keep friends who truly just make me smile and are not toxic or judgmental. Before within my teen years, I didn't know how to make actual friends. But now that I've grown, it's been easier to spot the difference with people who just use you or are toxic and people who accept you for who you are. 1 real friend is better than 100 fake friends.

Final draft:

Some of the changes I made was to get rid of the huge paragraphs I had at the bottom to read and added bullet points. I also added multiple text bubbles on each side of the poster with a little amount of writing, which will allow the audience to actually read instead of ignoring, because they may feel that it's a lot to read. I also added credit to who exactly the nutritionist was so that the information I gave is more reliable.

I used to think that being a good student meant being a perfect one. Especially being in a difficult major like pharmacy, there's this pressure to always do more. Even though my parents never put pressure on me academically for being the eldest, I still found myself overworking my body every day, neglecting self-care and self-reflection. Especially in my first year, I found myself overstimulated when I was incapable of getting everything I wanted, done, as “I always strive to be the best”. Yet, it took me some time to realize that college isn’t really like high school. No one is standing over your shoulder telling you what to do. You’re the one who chooses to show up. Choosing to keep going. But I realized I didn’t have to do it alone. By participating in various organizations such as MSA, I was able to establish valuable connections with supportive individuals, while also engaging in activities that provided opportunities for relaxation and personal well-being. It was almost like self-care. I’ve learned that when you join clubs, you’ll truly “find people that are similar to you” which will reassure you that you are not alone. But rather that everyone is on a similar journey, just in different ways.
